Understanding the importance of entrepreneurialism, the Boerne Kendall County Economic Development (BKCEDC) worked in collaboration with community partners to launch not only an Angel Network to allow for opportunities to gain access to capital, but also to launch Kendall County’s first business incubator. Das GreenHaus (DGH) opened its doors in June of 2023 and has already seen great success. As a nonprofit, 501c3 public-private partnership, the mission of DGH is to foster the community of innovators to grow Kendall County’s entrepreneurial vision. Using their physical space to offer tenants (individual startups) with a below-market lease rate, DGH is able to create a hive of activity. DGH also offers various affordable memberships, that include co-working space, educational events, access to mentors and different levels of programming to help take your startup to the next level. The BKCEDC continues to focus on entrepreneurs as an economic development tool as a way to grow our community gracefully, while working to preserve the Hill Country charm that makes Kendall County the amazing place that it is.
