MISTY MAYO, President/CEO
Misty Mayo has more than 25 years of experience in varied aspects of economic development, executive management, communications, strategic planning and marketing.
Misty was named the new President/CEO of the Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation in May 2015 after spending almost 10 years in economic development in San Antonio, Texas. She is responsible for leading the efforts to promote desirable economic development that will support a thriving, diverse and sustainable quality of life in Kendall County.
Formerly, Misty served as Executive Vice President at the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation. She was responsible for recruitment and expansion efforts resulting in over 4,000 jobs for the San Antonio area. Misty is credited with starting the first-ever local Business Retention and Expansion Program for San Antonio. She worked as the lead in the attraction and retention efforts on such projects as: CST Brands Corporate Headquarters location; Medtronic National Training and Diabetes Therapy Center location (1392 jobs); Kohl’s back office operation; Becton Dickinson’s North American Shared Services location (290 jobs); PETCO’s customer service headquarters (600 jobs); Allstate’s Back Office Operation; and data centers for both Chevron and The Capital Group Companies.
She is recognized as a BRE Professional with Business Retention and Expansion International (BREI), and has completed a variety of International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) courses. She holds a B.A. from West Texas A&M University and a non-profit management certification from Texas Tech University.
Misty is active in the Kendall County community in a variety of positions, including serving as a Board Member of the Bandera Electric Cooperative Charitable Trust Foundation; Board Member of the Boerne Education Foundation; and as a Board Member of the Boerne Chamber of Commerce.
ALISON CHURCH, Economic Development Coordinator
Alison Church has been with the BKCEDC since September 2015 and became a permanent member of the EDC Team in March 2016. Supporting the President / CEO, she has a variety of responsibilities, including: qualifying new projects; site related research and data collection; maintaining all technology, including the BKCEDC website and social media; and managing all office operations.
Alison brings her knowledge of site selection, tenant requirements, and client relationships to BKCEDC prospects with her background in Interior Design/Architecture. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from The University of the Incarnate Word as well as an Associate’s Degree in Interior Design from St. Philips College.
AMY STORY, Marketing & Special Projects
Amy Story has been with the BKCEDC since September 2016. Amy’s duties include marketing, communication and special projects for the BKCEDC, as well as website and social media management.
Amy comes to the BKCEDC with a background in finance, marketing & law. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing, as well as a J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin.
