Edit MemberPress
Add New User To MemberPress
Add New Member
- On the WordPress Dashboard, Click MemberPress
- Click Members
- Click Add New
- Fill in Member Data*
- To continue editing/adding user data, click on ‘users’ on the left-hand panel.
*Note: Users must be existing members before their individual data can be added. User information can be edited or added under ‘users’ on the left-hand panel.

Username

First/Last name
The Welcome email will feature the users first and last name.
Password
You could ‘Show Password’, but this is only a temporary password. Once you ‘Create’ the new user and they begin the password reset process, this temporary password will be invalid.
Membership
Please keep this on ‘Investor Only’.
Send the new member a membership welcome email
This is the email that you provided content for. This email goes out at the same time as the password email (described below)
Send the new member an email with their username
MemberPress secures users information by sending an email to the user to reset their email when they are added. There is not a way around this since this is their security protocol. This is an automatic email from Memberpress/WordPress, so we cannot change the content.
Advanced
For our membership settings, this section is not necessary. Do not adjust content.
Create
Once you click on ‘Create’, the email to the users will automatically export to their email address.
Edit Existing Members
Add New Member
- On the WordPress Dashboard, Click MemberPress
- Click Members
- Hover over user
- Click edit

There are lots of information areas. The user can update their information within their Account — or you can manually update via this section.
Edit Investor Only Pages
Find Member Only Pages
- On the WordPress Dashboard, Click Pages
- Scroll down to pages labeled ‘Investor Only’ under the Access column.
- Click Edit
- Click Use Visual Editor
- Once edits are complete, click ‘Save’

The website is backed up every day. So, if you make a mistake, we can back up the site from the past 30 days.
Edit PDFs/Media
Edit Existing PDFs
Step 1: Upload New PDF to Media
- On the WordPress Dashboard, click Media
- Click Add New & Upload PDF
- Click Edit (on the PDF you just uploaded)
- You should see a URL under ‘File URL’. Copy that and move to step 2.
Step 2: Update PDF Link on Webpage
- Navigate to the page where the PDF needs to be updated (Pages)
- Find the PDF button on the page (Make sure you are logged into the WP account and in edit-mode.
- Click the gear Icon over the button that needs to be updated
- After settings appear, click the Link area within the dropdown menu
- Paste the URL that you copied from the Media page.
- Save changes!
*Note: It may be helpful to rename your files with more descriptive words. For example, we like to add months/year to PDFs so that we can easily reference when a PDF was created (and we can compare that to the upload date).
Edit Newsletter
Adding New Newsletters
Step 1: Upload New Newsletter PDF to Media
- On the WordPress Dashboard, click Media
- Click Add New & Upload PDF
- Click Edit (on the PDF you just uploaded)
- You should see a URL under ‘File URL’. Copy that and move to Step 2.
Step 2: Add Newsletter
- Navigate to Newsletter Page (bkcedc.com/investors/newsletters)
- Find the last posted Newsletter. Hover over it. Press the Duplicate Icon in the Grey box (duplicate icon).
- Once duplicated, hover over the new Newsletter area and press Settings (gear icon).
- In settings, Change Title to the new Newsletter name
- Click “Link” dropdown within settings
- Paste your URL from Step 1 into the Title Link URL and Module Link URL.
*Note: It may be helpful to rename your files with more descriptive words. For example, we like to add months/year to PDFs so that we can easily reference when a PDF was created (and we can compare that to the upload date).
Edit Upcoming Events
- Current/Existing Event
- Add a new event within an existing month (2-column)
- Add new month/Delete month
Edit Investor Directory (Not Password Protected)
How to edit company names:
- Once on Investor Directory, located where to place
new name - Duplicate the name above (example below)
- Once copied, select the ‘gear’ icon to edit content (example below)
- Edit Name and Link — add company URL (example below)
- Save and Exit
Edit Investor Directory (Password Protected)
- Add New Investor
- Delete existing Investor
Edit Emails in Investor Directory (Not Password Protected)
How to edit emails:
- Once on Investor Directory, located where to place
new name - Click on the ‘gear’ icon next to the email that needs updating
- Update email in ‘Content’ area
- Update email link in ‘Links (do not delete mail:to text)
- Save and Exit
